3/25/14 Biology

Yesterday in biology class we analyzed the data that we got from the lab two weeks ago. We made some graphs and talked about what they meant. I didn't really learn anything.

  1. So Max--I have a challenge for you. Any student can learn from a great teacher. Great students, however, can learn from any teacher. My request as your friend who wants to see you be a great student, is that you look at those circumstances where you say "I didn't really learn anything," and see how you could up your game. For example, could you learn to ask great questions that helps people's understanding of the material? Could you ask yourself questions about the materials to answer later? It's critical that you own your own education. It would be amazing if you could do this in sixth grade, as some people never learn this skill.

    1. Great advice from someone who loves you, Max. Also, she meant 7th grade : )

  2. Wow! Julie has very good advice for you to push beyond what is there to see even more deeply and get insights that might be teased out of the situation

  3. And what was the project about? One other thought: there are always new questions to be asked ... what question might you come up with? Questions are key to exploration!
